Poesia

Y fue a esa edad… Llegó la poesía
a buscarme. No sé, no sé de dónde
salió, de invierno o río.
No sé cómo ni cuándo,
no, no eran voces, no eran
palabras, ni silencio,
pero desde una calle me llamaba,
desde las ramas de la noche,
de pronto entre los otros,
entre fuegos violentos
o regresando solo,
allí estaba sin rostro
y me tocaba.

Yo no sabía qué decir, mi boca
no sabía
nombrar,
mis ojos eran ciegos,
y algo golpeaba en mi alma,
fiebre o alas perdidas,
y me fui haciendo solo,
descifrando
aquella quemadura,
y escribí la primera línea vaga,
vaga, sin cuerpo, pura
tontería,
pura sabiduría
del que no sabe nada,
y vi de pronto
el cielo
desgranado
y abierto,
planetas,
plantaciones palpitantes,
la sombra perforada,
acribillada
por flechas, fuego y flores,
la noche arrolladora, el universo.

Y yo, mínimo ser,
ebrio del gran vacío
constelado,
a semejanza, a imagen
del misterio,
me sentí parte pura
del abismo,
rodé con las estrellas,
mi corazón se desató en el viento.

- Pablo Neruda

POETRY

And it was at that age…Poetry arrived
in search of me. I don’t know, I don’t know where
it came from, from winter or a river.
I don’t know how or when,
no, they were not voices, they were not
words, nor silence,
but from a street I was summoned,
from the branches of night,
abruptly from the others,
among violent fires
or returning alone,
there I was without a face
and it touched me.

I did not know what to say, my mouth
had no way
with names
my eyes were blind,
and something started in my soul,
fever or forgotten wings,
and I made my own way,
deciphering
that fire
and I wrote the first faint line,
faint, without substance, pure
nonsense,
pure wisdom
of someone who knows nothing,
and suddenly I saw
the heavens
unfastened
and open,
planets,
palpitating plantations,
shadow perforated,
riddled
with arrows, fire and flowers,
the winding night, the universe.

And I, infinitesimal being,
drunk with the great starry
void,
likeness, image of
mystery,
I felt myself a pure part
of the abyss,
I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.

THE RIVERS FEVER!!!!

Friday, April 25th, 2008

The year is almost gone, with tears and my eyes I’ve been a bit nostalgic remembering things i did during this year . Time goes fast so I always suggest for everyone to take life and live it to the MAXIMUM. We the students also want to have fun and sometimes we do CRAZY things with our roommates such as pirate make up and taking pics with a wild attitude even if it is not Halloween. People who give friendship without asking anything, people that helps, people who can love without any taboo.  This is the SOUL of our COLLEGE, the STUDENTS.  Behind all those classrooms, halls, homeworks, TESTS, etc, the youth of the college take time to do AWKWARD things that make this college UNIQUE!

WITH LOVE…

TO MY ROOMIES!!!

tHaNkS GiRlS,  you MADE  THIS YEAR ONE OF THE BEST IN MY LIFE, I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.

Interesting PEOPLE!

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Last  Sunday 15th, the Nees students had beautiful presentations on the public library of Council Bluffs.  It was super interesting due to there were many people and also each of them had a wonderful presentation.  Personally i liked the most each presentation, but most of the people liked  Yemen’s presentation by Omar as well Palestine, Lebanon presentation was very nice also, but Dubai’s was surprising, it is very advanced place!, Bangladesh was very explicit and long but it wasn’t   boring I was with my mouth opened, wow I did not know they have another alphabet. Qatar’s presentation showed us the greatest mall!  WELL! full of culture, architecture, traditions, gastronomy, honor, pride, costumes etc. Was great!  I LOVE IT! But I think this kind of activities should happen more often.

By the way there are some presentations day on April 30th, presentations around the world will be  realized DON’T MISS IT!!!!!

Japan, Tajikistan, Palestine, , Lebanon, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and more countries are waiting 4U!!!!

I love the library

I have heard a commercial on radio that talks about if IWCC is a right place for students. In the commercial they use IWCC sounds from games, hall ways, outdoors, and they say that maybe the library is not the right place to start since the library is so quiet, but I think it is a right place to start talking about IWCC because the library is the heart of the college.

I bet that everyone on this college loves the library and if they don’t like it at least they have been already there, I swear. Yes! Our library is not a boring place where you just go to study. The library in IWCC is a social place where you can meet your friends, and people, it shows the diversity of students that we have on our school. Also, there is a place where students can chat to each other.

Deeply I know that everyone loves the library, and how you can not love the library, if it is a genial place, it has those comfy sofas where everyone loves to sitting on it. Well, what can I say, I love the library, I love every place of it, the big window, the couches, the decoration, the computers. Also the personal who attend the library are very nice people. All day you can find interesting young people that gives an extra point to our charm library without forgetting the free delicious coffee up there, um yummy!

Because of all these I really think that the library is the heart of IWCC and the students are the soul. That is Y I THE LIBRARY !

It’s Sunny Again!!

It’s sunny again!! I can feel that I am a female! You know why? It’s because when it’s worm we have to wear light clothes, as a result our feminine features would be clearer!!

I took off my coat and thick worm sweaters, put on my lovely t-shirt, and went with some friends to explore the woods around IWCC. It was a nice walk; the breeze was just perfect to move my feelings towards that handsome guy that was with us. See how worm weather is every woman’s faithful friend? It moved his feelings too because he finally saw my beauty, that was cover all the winter with those thick, dark, and heavy clothes.

Do you believe that it was the first time for me to go to the woods around? Although I have been here for two years, it was the first time to take this long refreshing walk.

I am expecting to see you guys in our next walk!

P.S: check the picture!!
