ok, I’m late, but I’ll give you a good one

I’m a few days late on my blog, so I will share with you all how to be the life of a party. The secret is in one small joke. Okay, now pay attention, it’s a good one.

So there are these two statues that have been standing across this path from each other in a park for well over a hundred years, a guy and a girl. One day, an angel descends from heaven and is like, “you know what? You two have been so good standing here for so long, and enduring all the weather, that God has decided to grant you a half hour of life.”

So the angel snaps her finger and the two statues spring to life, and they instantly go over into the bushes and you hear all this rustling and giggling. Fifteen minutes later, they come back, get on their pedestals and are all ready to go. And the angel is like, “Well, you know, you have fifteen more minutes; you could do it again.” And the guy statue nods and looks at the girl statue and says, “Alright, but this time we’re changing positions. You hold the pigeon, and I’ll poop on its head.”

Ta daa! Guaranteed to get a few laughs and a crowd of eager followers at your next casual cocktail get-together.

Now, on a more serious note, letting everyone know that the academic calendar does say we get Good Friday off. So, there you go. I’ve had some people in my classes wondering about it and it is official, you just have to look at the academic calendar on the Iowa Western home page.

Also, I have some very cool news! My prospective college for next fall, Wheaton, is a very good university. But that’s not the cool news. I was talking with their science chair last Wednesday while I was over there, and he had an excellent mention on IWCC’s Veterinary and Nursing programs. His daughter, after getting her Bachelor degree at Wheaton, actually came over here and went through our Vet Tech program and he said she was just absolutely thrilled. He said we have an excellent dedication to the sciences here, which I thought was very neat. That is one of the best things about IWCC; we have great programs that are actually affordable. So whatever ya’ll are doing, you’re doing it right.

Also, I’m excited; I’m starting to see buds on the trees. That means spring, which means summer, which means SUMMER BREAK!!!!!!!! Yes, folks, the last day of classes is May 15th, which means we only have forty-two days between us and the beaches, hot sun, and sleeping in until noon every day! Also, we get that nice, golden tan that is obviously not fake-baked on there, which makes it look like you have been living in Cancun half your life. Ah, yes, Summer in the Midwest. And don’t forget the thunderstorms :D I do love the thunderstorms…  now, you can forget the tornados because those are awful, but it just wouldn’t be June without some heavy rain and lightning.

Anyway, on that happy thought, I have one more thing to say before I split. My birthday is in 24 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
