Em’s Blogtime Fun

     Thanks for dropping by my blog!  It’s going to be a little empty for the first week or so, but I am working on adding more stuff and customizing everything that I can.  I put in a couple links so far under the ‘games’ section on the righthand side of the page.  I did those first, you know, because they are most important.  You should especially check out iSketch.  When I find myself bored or needing a break from homework while I am on the computer, I often slip into that game.  I highly recommend playing it at least once in your life.  The thing is, though, that it won’t be just once.. it will suck you in and keep you there forever.  Kind of like a good television series or something.  Like when the ads say, ‘Mondays at 9′; the words grab you and make you revolve your entire life around Mondays at 9, because, well, you can’t help it.  You will get on the computer, intentions of only doing homework, but will inevitably end up playing iSketch– for hours.  It’s great.
     On another note, fall is here!  I wait those long 274 days that aren’t during fall for this time of the year.  Fall is too short; not to mention the years when it is cut even shorter because of early winters.  There’s something about the crisp air and the crinkle of leaves that makes me feel happy and complete.  And you can’t beat the colors; everything in such vibrant disarray.  It’s a nice reminder that things cycle, and there’s beauty all the way through.  And, did you know, that September 22 - 23 is the autumnal equinox?  I didn’t either, until my friend Wikipedia lent me the information.  Apparently, yesterday at 3:44 PM, the sun was nearly directly above the earth’s equator.  According to Wikipedia, “…the centre of the Sun will spend a nearly equal amount of time above and below the horizon at every location on Earth and night and day will be of nearly the same length [on the day of an equinox].”  How neat is that?  And what good timing for my first blog!  The world really does work in mysterious ways.  Mysteriously awesome ways.
    As the colder months are arriving, so are midterms.  Classes are going well, but the homework is getting harder and harder to complete.  At least, to the best of my ability.  I really, really want to do my best all the time, but it’s too easy to just do ‘okay.’  You know, it’s weird, because I am not okay with just ’okay.’  I mean, it is your future and your time and your money that you are working with, you know?  Why not make it worthwhile?  And then I remember how much fun it is to not do homework and sleep in.  And that is where the problems arrise…  But, at least I realize the things I need to do and accomplish, right?  I think that is a step in the right direction.  And I have some amount of motivation and if nothing else, at least the obligation to myself to be a success.  So, I guess I will do my homework after I post this blog.  At least some of it.
